ABOUT US

The Antiques and Art Gallery is located in the heart of the French Riviera, on the picturesque semi-peninsula of Cap Ferrat, known as the quietest and most fashionable resort on the French Riviera. These holiday destinations were discovered at the beginning of the 20th century by the Belgian King Leopold II, who had a luxurious villa built for his beloved wife Caroline Lacroix. This is not surprising for anyone who is close to steeply sloping rocks glistening in the sun, sandy beaches, a dark green line of Mediterranean pines and eucalyptus trees and magnificent mansions with wonderful gardens and parks hidden among them. Due to the incredible beauty of the surrounding nature, many famous personalities like to spend their time in this place. Among them were Friedrich Nietzsche, Winston Churchill, Herbert George Wells, Duke of Windsor and Jean Cocteau, Edith Piaf, Charlie Chaplin, Elizabeth Taylor, Jean-Paul Belmondo, Tony Curtis, Marc Chagall. The magnificent landscape is perfectly suited to the breathtaking art objects represented in the art gallery.

In 2022, a group of shareholders, collectors and contemporary art lovers opened their gallery space by founding the Antique et art gallery, which brings together around a hundred antique art objects from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. The gallery also represents a wide range of contemporary artists and estates from around the world. This unique art space, supervised by gallery director Maria Osman, also aims at cultural programming and events with artists, including performances, exhibition tours and public lectures. This approach promotes the role played by the gallery in the cultural life of the Côte d'Azur. The grouping of artists and professional experts in the field of artist estates ensures the efficient operation of the gallery. This unique and admirable aspect of the founders' vision reflects the real demands of people in this artistic field. Clearly, this is an undeniably important addition to the artistic discourse.

The Antiques and Art Gallery houses exceptional antiques that are just waiting to please a new owner. A special place in the gallery’s collection is occupied by Flora Danica, one of the most prestigious and exclusive porcelain sets in the world. The Flora Danica collection has been produced since 1790, the golden age of porcelain. More than 3000 botanical illustrations have been hand-painted on the tray according to the Big Botanical Encyclopedia. Remarkable precision, fine and elegant lines and the highest quality porcelain make each piece a real treasure. Each item in the Flora Danica collection represents the history of the royal family and you can feel a part of history in your hands.

Another extraordinary object from the antique collection is a sculpture of The Greek Slave by Tadolini, signed and dated 1869. Tadolini created The Greek Slave in various sizes with the figure's hand raised to his chest or chin. The small number of versions recently offered on the art market all demonstrate the sculptor's close attention to the human form and his overriding fascination with the exotic, particularly in the tumultuous folds of the present figure's headdress and the finely articulated jewels wrapped around his arms. This theme, according to the collectors' laws of the time, would undoubtedly have appealed to members of the international elite and may explain its enduring and international popularity.

Other items from the collection of antiques and the art gallery you can find in the catalog. Each art object represented in the Catalog can become an original gift, a source of bright emotions and a stylish accent in the interior of its owner.
If you're looking to add original art to your collection, you'll eventually be rewarded even if you don't find exactly what you're looking for. You'll usually find one available to discuss a new acquisition, show you a current exhibition, and answer your questions.
